Skyhawks Too Much For Aucs

1654 Reads

The matchup between Seventh Woods and Jalek Felton had its highlight moments but it was the team play and unselfishness of the Hammond Skyhawks that was the difference in this Skyhawk win. Hammond got off to a furious start and jumped out to a lead that got up to 16 points in the first half but Jalek Felton would lead his team back late in the first half to cut the Hammond lead to 10 points at halftime. The second half started much like the first with Hammond putting the game away early as they dissected the Mullins halfcourt trap with ease for layups and dunks. Hammond had four players in double figures with Chavez Goodwin and Michael Turner both recording double doubles (Goodwin 21pts, 13reb) (Turner 14pts, 11reb). Seventh Woods (UNC) finished with 13pts and 8reb, while Jonathan Yuchmow pitched in 13 points. Jalek Felton did not disappoint as he finished with 25 points.  With the 79-49 win Hammond goes to 7-0 on the season and Mullins falls to 2-3. Hammond will now face Spring Valley Monday night at 8:30 in the main gym while Mullins falls to the losers bracket to face Richland Northeast Monday at 3:20 in the auxillary gym.
