Star Wars mania is sweeping the nation world.  And we’re just as excited as you are!  So we’re not saying you shouldn’t see Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  We’re simply saying you should come and visit us first.

And here are our top 5 reasons why:

1.  Edge Of Your Seat Action

There will be no Jedi or droids in the gym, but there will be some top-level action in the first round (Friday & Saturday) of the 2015 Chick-fil-A Classic!  We kick off the tournament with a local rivalry game (Spring Valley vs. Richland Northeast)  Immediately following that game is a showdown between two future Tar Heels as Jalek Felton’s Mullins Auctioneers take on Seventh Woods’ Hammond Skyhawks.  We then follow that up on Saturday with six main gym games featuring four of the top 18 teams in the nation!  You want to get a first glimpse of the future stars of the NCAA and NBA?  Look no further!

2.  The Chick-fil-A Cows

You never know what these crazy cows are going to do – on the court or in the stands.  You should be ready for anything, though.  The cows will be throwing lots of Chick-fil-A goodies into the stands.  No 3D glasses needed for this action!

The Greater Columbia Educational Advancement Foundation is the real winner of the Chick-fil-A.  Since 2003, the GCEAF has been able to award over $145,000 in college scholarships to local students.  Your support of the tournament ensures that this dollar amount will continue to grow and college will be more affordable to deserving students in the area.

Chewbacca Dunk4.  Chewbacca

With his size and strength, Chewbacca’s game would definitely be above the rim.  However, he’s busy ensuring freedom for the galaxy.  So what better way to honor him than to come out to the gym this weekend to see some highly skilled players showing how they play above the rim.  We wish we had ordered these shirts from The Shirt List earlier!  They would have looked great courtside.

5.  Sunday

Yes.  This the Chick-fil-A Classic – we play no games on Sunday.  Chick-fil-A has a long history of setting aside Sunday for the things that are most important – family, friends, and religion.  There are dozens of theaters in (and around) Columbia that will be showing Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Sunday.  Hopefully you’ll check it out and come back to the gym on Monday ready for some more outstanding hoops action!
