Blythewood got off to a good start with points off their stingy match up defense and put away the Keenan Raiders in the second half of the final game of the National Bracket openers. Eli Lake (13pts) and Trae Churn (18pts; 9-12FG) led the Bengal attack. Tariq Simmons led the Raiders in scoring with 24 points on 7-12 shooting. The constant rotating players in and out by Blythewood helped wear down the Raiders who lacked the depth that Blythewood rotated in and out throughout the game.
Now Blythewood has the daunting task of facing 2 time champion Oak Hill on Monday night at 7:00pm in the main gym, while Keenan will take on Arlington Country Day Monday at 6:25pm in the auxillary gym.
