game 23

The first half between Spring Valley and Hammond was back and forth as expected with the guards of Spring Valley controlling the tempo but not able to control Seventh Woods who hit four 3’s and totaled 18 points in the first half to help lead Hammond to a 36-29 advantage at the end of the half. Midway through the second half Hammond would extend their lead with an alley-oop fast break to Woods that would top off a 11-1 run giving the Skyhawks a 55-38 lead. Spring Valley would answer with a 8-0 run of its own to cut the lead to 55-46, but eight points would be as close as the Vikings could get as Hammond would control tempo down  the stretch and extend their lead for a 71-54 win. UNC commit Seventh Woods finished with a game high 33 points and Chavez Goodwin would add a double double (18pts; 11rebs). The Skyhawks remain undefeated at 8-0 on the season and will take on undefeated Greenforest Christian (11-0) tommorow night in the championship of the American Bracket at 8:30 in the main gym.
