game 30

Oak Hill got off to a fast start as Huntington Prep looked as if they were still dazed from last night’s thrilling victory. Ty-Shon Alexander got Oak Hill going with 4 threes in the first half finishing with 14 points for the first half. At one point the Warriors were up 21-8 but that was before Curtis Jones caught fire and helped get the Irish back into the game. Jones finished the first half with 11 points. In the second half, Oak Hill  jumped off  to another hot start going up by 11 points with 11:46 to play. Then Miles Bridges decided to carry his team on his back and bring the Irish back. Bridges made play after play and Oak Hill had no answer for him down the stretch. Down by two with under :20 seconds to go Oak Hill got the ball back and put it in the tournament MVP’s hands (Alexander) and Ty-shon delivered as he has the entire tournament with a short jumper in the lane to send the game to overtime. In overtime, the Irish got away from getting the ball to Bridges and Devontae Shuler got the Warriors going with a 3 pointer from the corner. After that, Alexander would hit several free-throws down the stretch to put the game away for a 93-85 victory and the Warriors 3rd National Bracket Championship. Miles Bridges finished with 35 points and 10 rebounds while teammate Curtis Jones added 27 points. Bridges was also named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, while Curtis Jones was named to the All-Tournament team. Ty-shon Alexander was named the Most Valuable player while teammates Braxton Key and Devontae Shueler were named to the All-Tournament team. Ty-shon Alexander led his team with 28 points in the victory.
