Lakers Flex Their Muscles

643 Reads

The Lakers of La Lumiere quickly showed why they are the nations #1 team as they got off to a quick lead over Oldsmar Christian and never looked back. The quickness and length of the Lakers made life tough for the Eagles as they struggled at getting good looks at the basket. Jordan Poole came off the bench to give the Lakers an added lift shooting 3 of 5 from the arc to finish the half with 13 points. Michael Durr tried to keep the Eagles close by chipping in 10 points before the half. At the start of the second half, the Eagles caught the Lakers in a lull and made a nice run to cut the lead to 7 with 10 minutes to play, but several big shots by “hot hand” Jordan Poole helped the Lakers extend the lead back to up to 20 points. Poole finished with 21 points (5 3-pointers) while Brian Bowen and Jaren Jackson each added 15 points. Oldsmar Christian was led by Elijah Weaver who finished with 17 points (4 of 6 3ptr).

La Lumiere will now face Hamilton Heights in the semi-finals on Thursday at 7pm in the main gym.
