Columbia, SC– Day two of the 2017 Carolina Challenge Showcase started with some guys that are getting looked at by some well respected programs in the country. United Faith Academy out of Charlotte who returned four starters from last year featured Nathan Springs who committed to the University Of Ohio and guard Jaylen Sims who signed with UNC-Wilmington in October. Sims finished the game with 28 points on 11 for 18 shooting and also led the team in rebounds with 7 boards. Getting outscored 42-26 in the first half by the Bengals forced United Faith to come out in the second half with a since of urgency they didn’t have in the first half. Even though United Faith cut the lead to 11 with 7:37 left after being down 24 it was simply all Bengals for the majority of the game and too much fire power with four Bengals in double digits in scoring on the stat sheet. Guard Tre Jackson was on fire shooting 5 for 8 from behind the three point line, Jackson finished with 25 points and was the leading scorer for the Bengals. He wasn’t the only Bengal to have a good game. Forward Robert Braswell, who was recently offered by Oklahoma State had a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds that seemed to come easy for him. Jonathan Breeland was 2 rebounds away from having a double-double with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Travis Thompson also finished with 11 points. United Faith will face Richland Northeast, Friday at 6:25pm in the auxiliary gym.
