Combine Academy (NC) closed out its inaugural trip to the Chick-fil-A Classic with a 66-59 win over Gray Collegiate in a National Bracket consolation championship.

The Goats finished the tournament with a 2-1 record. 

Kansas signee Rakease Passmore and Jayan Walker each had 17 points to lead Combine. Passmore was named to the all-tournament team and averaged 20 points in the Goats’ three games. 

Seton Hall signee Jahseem Felton added 13 and Paul Jones III added 12.

Jones III gave the Goats the lead for good when he hit a 3-pointer and was fouled to put them up 54-50 with 6:50 left. The four-point play was part of Combine’s 14-4 run in the quarter.

Combine hit 50 percent from the field in the second half including 5-of-9 from three-point range. 

Braylhn Thomas led Gray Collegiate with 19 points. Thomas led the War Eagles in scoring in each of their three games. Gray finished 1-2 in the event in its first appearance since 2019.
