Ronald Jessamy and Maki Johnson had big second halves as Huntinton Prep (WV) defeated Ridge View (SC), 62-52, in a National Bracket consolation game Wednesday.

Huntington will play St, Frances Academy (Md) in the National Bracket consolation championship at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Ridge will play Legacy Early College (SC) at 9:10 a.m.

Jessamy scored 13 of his team-high 19 points in the second half. He also finished with 10 rebounds.

Jessamy scored his team’s first 10 points of the third quarter as Huntington Prep went on an 11-0 run to lead 37-24 with 2:47 left in the third.

Ridge View clawed back behind five-star Class of 2023 prospect GG Jackson, who finished with 24 points and 15 rebounds. Jackson’s basket cut it to 49-45 with 3:26 left. 

That’s when Johnson hit three 3-pointers over the next 90 seconds as Huntington took a 58-47 lead with 2:17 left. Johnson finished with 12 points.

Seth Hubbard and Trentyn Flowers each added 10 points for Huntington. 

Gamar Powers had 11 for Ridge View.
