Arrinten Page scored 15 points and Isaiah Collier added 14 points to lead a balanced attack to pace Wheeler (Ga) to a 66-38 victory over host River Bluff (SC) in the American bracket. Wheeler will play Keenan (SC) in the nightcap on Thursday night in a winner’s bracket contest. River Bluff faces off with AC Flora in a loser’s bracket contest on Thursday.
The Wildcats are ranked No. 13 in the country by ESPN and struggled in the early going but caught fire just before the half. It was 20-16 late in the second quarter but Wheeler scored the final six points of the half to lead 26-16 at the break.
That momentum carried through the entire third quarter when the Wildcats outscored the Gators 29-7.
Collier, the No. 2 ranked player in the class of 2023 by On3, added four assists, three rebounds and two steals in just 18 minutes.
Yasir Cromer led the Gators with nine points.
