Leon Horner scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Dynamic Prep (Texas) survived a last-second shot to defeat Dream City Christian (Az.), 72-69, in the semifinals of the Chick-fil-A Classic National Bracket.
Dynamic will play the DME Academy/Prolific Prep winner in the championship game on Saturday at 7 p.m. It is DP’s first appearance in the Classic. Dream City will play the DME/Prolific loser in the third-place game.
The game featured 13 lead changes and was tied 67-67 with 1:56 left. Jaden Toombs’ basket put Dynamic Prep up with 1:35 left. Dynamic led 72-69 with a minute left but Dream City had several chances to tie and missed a game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Jermaine O’Neal Jr. added 19 for Dynamic and Toombs had 13.
Ikenna Alozie led Dream City with 35 points.
