Prolific Prep (CA) entered the Chick-fil-A Classic as the No. 2 ranked team in the country according to ESPN and the The Crew got the best shot of Gray Collegiate (SC) before prevailing 63-47 in a first round game of the National bracket.

Aiden Sherrell, an Alabama commitment, led the way with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Sherrell is the No. 21 player in the Class of 2024 according to ESPN. He had plenty of help. Tyran Stokes, the No. 1 ranked player in the 2026 Class, added 12 points and 10 rebounds. AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 player in the 2025 Class, finished with 11 points and Mikey Lewis contributed nine points, nine rebounds and four steals. Lewis is committed to St. Mary’s.

The War Eagles got within 40-37 early in the fourth quarter on a crowd-pleasing dunk but it was all Prolific Prep (17-1) after that. The Crew closed the game on a 23-10 spurt. Winters Grady started the run with a jumper and Lewis added a 3-pointer to push the lead back to seven very quickly. It was never less than five points the rest of the way.

Braylhan Thomas and Maddox led the way for Gray Collegiate (9-4) with 11 points each. LJ Britt added 10 points. Prolific Prep outrebounded the War Eagles by a 41-27 margin.
