MJ Rice scored 20 points to lead three players in double figures to move Prolific Prep in the National Bracket championship after a 72-62 victory over Liberty Heights.

Rice, a Kansas commitment, added four rebounds. Adem Bona added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Tre White, a Southern Cal commitment, busted his chin in the first half that required stitches, but he returned to score 13 points with five rebounds and four assists.

Prolific Prep (15-2) led 21-20 at the half but outscored Liberty Heights 29-17 in the third quarter to take control.

Liberty Heights (17-2) was playing its fourth game in less than two days. They played day games in Winston-Salem, a 152-mile trip, each of the last two days but traveled back to play in the evening games at River Bluff.

Chas Stinson connected on four 3-pointers and scored 24 points with five rebounds and three steals for Liberty Heights. Tajuan Simpkins added 15 points and four rebounds and four steals. His twin brother, Takai Simpkins, added 11 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Prolific Prep will play for the National Bracket Championship against Dream City Christian Thursday night at 7 pm. Liberty Heights will play Denver Prep in the third-place contest at 5:20 pm.
