St. John’s (DC) knocked down 13 three-pointers in an 80-49 victory over Keenan (SC) in the opening contest of the American Bracket in the Chick-fil-A Classic Wednesday night.

Devin Toatley scored 12 points to pace four Crusaders in double figures. Omari Witherspoon, Atosh Newman and Finely Billy each added 11 points. Those four combined to shoot 8-of-16 from long range as St. John’s finished the night 13-of-26 from the 3-point line.

The Crusaders (11-1) started the game on a 16-2 spurt and never trailed. They led by as many as 37 points and the lead was never less than 10 points the rest of the way.

Keenan (SC) fell to 3-11 overall. The Raiders turned the ball over 21 times and had trouble getting into their offensive sets. Cedric Schofield led the way with 14 points and Nyheim McNeil added 10 points.
